In this 33-minute video, I lead you and the community in worship, sharing a prayer by William Burnside II, and music from Liz Cataldo playing Pepper Choplin’s “Joyful, Joyful” and from the video Everyday People produced by Turnaround Arts. The message this week is in turbulent times Methodists and others can use the Wesleyan Quadrilateral to help us understand our world. We look to scripture in the Psalm 100 and Genesis 18: 1-15 and reminded to take care of the strangers in our lives. We turn to tradition in our community and read letters from the Townsend Police Chief and Council of Bishops. Then we can look to do the next right thing.
Our Council of Bishops has asked us to pray for 8 minutes and 46 seconds at 8:46 AM and PM for the next 30 days. We will need to use the power of prayer to ground ourselves as we join the United Methodist Church’s mission to dismantle racism and press on to freedom.
